Our goal is to develop brain and spinal cord machine interfaces to restore communication and control in paralyzed individuals. Toward enabling these neuroprosthetic technologies to interface the nervous system with devices, our laboratory uses electrophysiology, computational tools, and electrical stimulation. The lab is also involved in neural probe development by understanding and mitigating various abiotic and biotic mechanisms in neural electrode failure.
